The core material of the drill is a fine-grained hard alloy that improves the toughness of the drill bit and the impact resistance at low speeds, preventing the drill tip from chipping. . A high hardness carbide grade is used around the peripheral portion of the core to improve the wear resistance of the peripheral cutting edge. According to the company, the service life of this two-material carbide drill is more than four times that of a single-material drill, which can cut the cutting time by half.
The HardCore drill has a drill tip angle of 140° and is TiAlN coated and open grooved to aid chip evacuation.
