ISCAR's new SWISSCUT Swiss-style turning tool system

ISCAR's new compact SWISSCUT turning tool system reduces the problem of the narrow machining area of ​​the cam-type machine tool and the easy interference of the tool. It is convenient to replace the blade from both sides of the tool holder. When replacing the blade edge, it is not necessary to remove the knife bar and then reattach it. High-precision inserts and a robust toolholder design ensure the necessary repeatability. In view of the quick change capability of this clip-on blade, SWISSCUT turning tools are used in CNC machine tools in addition to cam-type machines.

The preferred insert material is the IC1008 with TiAlN and TiN coatings. The special chipbreaker is designed for small part machining. User cutting reports show that this combination has been successfully used in carbon steel and alloy steel, heat resistant alloys, stainless steel and hardened steel for interrupted cutting.

The SWISSTURN turning tool series is an option for CNC machine tools. It features a small tool holder, a consistent design, a large positive rake groove and a sharp cutting edge. Due to the small cutting forces generated, SWISSTURN turning tools have also been successfully used on some thin-walled parts with poor rigidity.
