Jingdezhen Ceramic Exports $65.88 million in May

The reporter learned from the Jingdezhen Customs that from January to May this year, the city’s total import and export value reached US$434 million, an increase of 26.34% over the same period of last year. Following the record of exporting 138 million U.S. dollars in a single monthly month in April this year, the monthly export volume reached a record high in May. The total value of imports and exports reached US$152 million, an increase of 37.03% year-on-year.

From January to May, the city’s foreign trade exports generally have the following characteristics: First, the scale of imports has doubled, adding to the city’s open economy. Since March this year, the city has continuously maintained a three-month increase in import growth. The cumulative value of imports in the first five months was $2.277 million, a year-on-year increase of 1.01 times. Among them, the total import value of mechanical and electrical products and testing instruments reached 18.99 million US dollars, accounting for 80% of the total value of all imports. Second, export products have become increasingly diversified, driving the rapid growth of the city's open economy. Data show that the city’s foreign trade export volume has grown rapidly this year. The total value of exports in the first five months reached US$412 million, a year-on-year increase of 23.80%. In April and May, the total value of exports in each month exceeded US$100 million. From the perspective of the structure of export products, the export of electromechanical products in the city topped the first place in the first five months, followed by pharmaceutical, chemical and ceramic products. The total export value of these three products was US$129 million, US$98.82 million, and US$58.88 million, respectively. 70% of the city's total exports. Among them, the export growth of electromechanical products was rapid, with a year-on-year growth of 1.03 times. Exports of ceramics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, helicopters, automobiles, electrical appliances, and electronic products have risen in tandem, and have become the main force in the city's exports. Product diversification has achieved remarkable results. Third, the export structure was further optimized, highlighting the significant increase in the open economy of Jingdezhen.

According to statistics, the export of production-type and business-type enterprises each account for half of the country. From January to May, the import and export scale of production enterprises continued to expand. In the first five months, the total import and export value of manufacturing enterprises in the city was US$214 million, an increase of 92.03% year-on-year, accounting for 49.3% of the city’s total import and export value. In the same period, the total value of the import and export of the operating companies was 220 million U.S. dollars, accounting for 50.7% of the total. The proportion of the export of production-oriented enterprises has increased significantly, from 35% in the same period of last year to 50%, an increase of 42.9%, showing that the city's export-led production, and the export-led development strategy has achieved outstanding results.
