Google will open its first smart city in Canada in 2020

Google's parent company Alphabet City innovative companies SidewalkLabs said the company will be held in Toronto, Canada in 2020 to start building its first smart city projects, and is also expected to test some of its smart city technology this summer.

Beginning in March 2017, WaterfrontToronto, supported by the Government of Canada, seeks advice from outside to develop a 12-acre, environmentally friendly multi-purpose area that will increase employment and provide affordable accommodation for all ages and income groups. . In October last year, SidewalkLabs' proposal was selected by WaterfrontToronto.
SidewalkLabs' proposals include autonomous vehicles, heating networks that do not use fossil fuels, flexible low-cost modular buildings, automated courier services and waste management systems.
SidewalkLabsCEO Dan Doktorov said in an interview that Sidewalk and WaterfrontToronto are expected to approve specific development plans by the end of 2018, and the first residents will move into smart cities as early as 2022.
To complete some of the technical tests this summer, Doktorov revealed that Sidewalk is ready for $50 million.
