Over the past 40 years, the technology and quality of superhard materials and products in China have been continuously improved, the variety of products has been increasing, and the scale of production has been continuously expanded. It has formed a cross-sector, cross-industry and cross-regional research, design, production, and complete categories. A complete industrial system of considerable scale has created a development path for the super-hard materials and products industry with Chinese characteristics. At present, China's synthetic diamond production ranks first in the world, becoming the world's largest producer of superhard materials, and has achieved its due status in the world's superhard materials industry. According to incomplete statistics, in the four years from 1998 to 2001, the total output of China's superhard materials and products industry increased from 400 million carats to 1.62 billion carats, of which the output of products increased from 0.5 billion carats to 290 million. Carat, nearly five times more, the development speed is gratifying.

New developments in superhard materials are the driving force and purpose of material development and application, while superhard materials are the main raw materials for products, and its development provides a basis for the development of products. In terms of new varieties, a diamond abrasive called CSD variety has emerged, that is, the agglomerate structure diamond is different from the conventional diamond single crystal particle in that it is composed of a plurality of fine particles. When the grinding force reaches a certain level during the grinding process, these fine particles will be slightly broken, so the self-sharpness is very good, the grinding is very sharp, the efficiency is high, the service life is longer, and the surface quality of the workpiece is better. CSD abrasive is most suitable for processing hard alloys, and can also be used for processing glass and ceramics; it is most suitable for resin bond abrasives, and can also be used for bronze and ceramic bond abrasives. Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) Abrasives With the development of technology, CBN abrasives have developed two varieties of amber single crystals with better strength and toughness based on the past two black single crystal varieties, plus three Ni-plated varieties. On the basis of Ni, Cu and Ti plating products, the plated products have developed a variety of superhard materials coated with corundum. The product is applied to the resin bond super-hard abrasive, which not only has the advantages of Ni-plated and Cu-based abrasives, but also overcomes the disadvantages of high plating cost and dullness of the tool, and the processing efficiency is improved by 30% to 35%, and the service life is improved by 20%. %. (1) With the continuous improvement of raw material preparation, new binders, special production equipment, testing instruments, etc., the manufacturing technology of super-hard materials will be greatly improved, new varieties will emerge continuously, with high speed and high thickness. Products with ultra-thin, complex profiles and other features will continue to develop at a higher level, and product quality will be significantly improved.

(2) Superhard material products will develop in the direction of serialization, standardization and specialization, and each production enterprise will form its own product features.

(3) The application technology of super-hard materials, including CNC machine tools, dressing technology, special grinding fluids, etc. will be developed and improved.

(4) The application fields of super-hard materials will be expanded to a large extent, and more applications will be obtained in industries such as automobiles, computers, microelectronics, optoelectronics, telecommunications, home appliances, and new ceramics. CBN products will be even larger. Popularization and development.

(5) With the transfer of the world manufacturing center to mainland China, China's super-hard materials will develop rapidly in the next 10 years, not only will production leap to the forefront of the world, but also the technological level will move toward a world power.
